Sable Island Tour

This was easily the best trip of my life. The organization and carefulness that was put into the trip planning made me feel really secure and Geordie was helpful, fun, extremely knowledgeable and an amazing photographer (to complement the pictures I took myself). the actual experience is beyond compare from the moment you see the island from the helicopter to the horses, beaches, seals and the beautiful wild grassy beach dunes. But I would highly highly recommend Picture Perfect Tours as I feel like the heart and care and friendliness and the attention to detail were beyond compare. Geordie is an absolute fountain of knowledge and his enthusiasm is contagious (even though we were already maximally enthusiastic!) I also learned a lot about plastic waste and other conservation efforts and feel like in many ways the experience changed my outlook. A bucket list experience catered by the very very best!

We had a great experience with Picture Perfect Tours. We wanted to take pictures in downtown Halifax and Jon put together a custom itinerary with multiple stops highlighting the city. We are new to photography and received special instruction on how to get the best out of our cameras along with helpful tips and tricks. Will definitely be back.

My Mom's life-long dream was to visit Sable Island. To celebrate her milestone birthday, we booked a tour for our family to explore Sable Island with Geordie from Picture Perfect Tours. It can only be accessed by plane, boat, or helicopter. Pack a lunch, water, snacks, sunscreen, and your sense of adventure. Geordie is an incredible guide and host. We had to make some last minute choices and alterations to the tour due to approaching bad weather but Geordie made it all work perfectly. Our group’s ages ranged by 30 years and everyone was taken care of and wonderfully engaged. Also, we saw a TON of horses. Beautiful experience all in all. Would recommend it to anyone.

Sable Island...what an experience! From the helicopter ride over to the amazing landscape and of course the beautiful horses. I loved every minute of it. Geordie was a great guide. I can not recommend this day trip enough. It is a must do bucket list item.

I was beyond excited that I finally got the chance to check Sable Island off my bucket list. A life goal that I have had since I was a little girl. It was well worth it. The natural raw beauty of the island is astounding. You could literally explore for days. The trip was well planned and exceptionally organized, by Picture Perfect Tours. Geordie is a fantastic tour guide. You can tell he has a great passion for, and knowledge of the island. He clearly loves what he does. I would highly recommend that if you are at all curious about seeing unique natural beauty and wildlife that few people ever get to experience and explore, and if maybe have a taste for intriguing history, that you take the opportunity to make the trip over to Sable Island with Picture Perfect Tours.

A lot of people will find it expensive to take this tour and I appreciate that. But if you can afford it GO! Some things can’t be measured in dollars and cents and this is one of them. This is a stellar tour. At the age of 85 I couldn’t believe what I learned besides what I saw. Back to the money. Like I told my daughter who came with me. Didn’t cost me a cent. I just used some of her inheritance. Sable Island isn’t going anywhere so start saving now.

The Magic of Sable Island - I had always dreamed about going to Sable Island since I was a kid but never imagined that I would ever get there. This October my dream came true and I spent a magical day on the island exploring and photographing the horses, seals, all things nature and learning about the past and present. Be prepared for walking in sand but it is well worth the effort! A dream come true.

What a wonderful trip to Sable Island! The tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and took wonderful photographs of our adventure! I had never been on a helicopter before and so was at first nervous but within just a few moments and with the spectacular views below, I felt comfortable and excited for the journey. Once there, we were greeted by Parks staff and then were taken to a little sun room to drop off our lunches and belongings. A splendid bonus was being taken on a guided tour by the island biologist Zoe Lucas who really helped deepen our understanding of the fragile ecosystems on the island. I’ve always wanted to dance on Sable Island and was able to take a few moments to do just that. It was a dream come true! An Enchanting Journey to Sable Island Last week, I reached out to Picture Perfect Tours for information about Sable Island, as I was contemplating a visit towards the end of October. Geordie, the owner, was incredibly knowledgeable and patiently addressed all my queries. His enthusiasm for Sable Island was infectious, and he offered some fantastic recommendations. To my surprise, Geordie informed me of two last-minute cancellations for the upcoming weekend, just two days away. Without hesitation, I secured time off from work and hastily made plans for the trip. Our departure from Halifax was slightly delayed due to fog, but once we were in the air, the helicopter ride itself was a remarkable experience, with smooth sailing and breathtaking views. During our flight over the island, we were treated to the sight of horses and groups of seals basking on the beach. Upon arrival on the island, the staff provided us with a brief orientation, outlining the dos and don'ts for our visit, ensuring both our safety and the preservation of the island's fragile ecosystem. Our journey began as a group, strolling through the picturesque dunes of Sable Island. Geordie, our guide, shared fascinating insights into the local ecosystem and the island's rich history. It didn't take long before we encountered the iconic Sable Island horses. Maintaining a respectful distance, I managed to capture some truly remarkable photographs of these majestic creatures. As the group paused to observe the horses quenching their thirst at a watering hole, I ventured off solo to explore further, which led to even more enchanting encounters with these beautiful horses. Later in the day, our group was fortunate enough to spot a colony of seals sunbathing on the sandy shores, adding another dimension to our wildlife experience. All in all, the trip was nothing short of incredible. Time seemed to slip through our fingers, and before we knew it, it was time to bid farewell to this enchanting island. It felt as though the entire experience had passed in the blink of an eye. July 27th was the realization of a lifelong dream to go to Sable Island after reading about it in National Geographic as a kid in the early 70s, and now after having been there I can say it was worth the wait and every penny spent. This was all made possible by Geordie Mott owner of Picture Perfect Tours, Geordie is a relaxed and informative guide with intimate knowledge of the island and he lead us on a day long hike along the horse trails and stretches of white sand beach explaining about the flora and fauna as we went, the weather was great, the scenery captivating, the wild horses and grey seals were abundant making for excellent photo opportunities and memories that will last a lifetime, however the desire to return has already started, the winter version looks very interesting, also if you happen to leave your phone on the helicopter after the tour Geordie can help with that too. Very Highly Recommended.

This expedition was to the hard to get to and very unique sable island. Our Lunenburg and Peggy's Cove tour with Geordie was the highlight of our cruise. We are so lucky to have Geordie as our tour guide. Communicating and coordinating with him was very smooth from the start. He responded back to all our inquiries and provided detailed information. He was very welcoming and engaging. He provided us with soda and water, made sure we are comfortable and was very flexible with the itinerary. All 10 of us in the group had a wonderful time. We’ve hired Picture perfect tours a few times and they’re always fabulous. The guides are knowledge in both camera tricks and history. Your tour will be filled with so many helpful hints and beautiful landscapes you will be blown away. Nova Scotia is already beautiful and it’s enhanced by Geordie’s expertise. Geordie was a great host for our girls weekend. Very professional, picked us up at the airport and had shared a great itinerary ahead of time so we knew what to expect. Great pace and visit times along the coast en route to our hotel destination at White Point. Above and beyond service with lobster delivery and a cooking pot so we could cook on the grill!
