Your Frequently Asked Questions

Cancellations:

All cancellations are subject to a non-refundable 3% fee to cover our fees associated with credit card processing. If you need to cancel or change your booking we require at least 48 hours notice. If you or your group need to cancel a tour with us with less then 48 hours notice from the scheduled departure time then we issue a 50% refund. Picture Perfect Tours Ltd. reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a tour at any point and will issue a refund or a credit towards another tour of your preference.

Weather events:

Our tours operate rain or shine we have plenty of umbrellas to keep everybody covered. We customize each tour to take into account not only your interests but also the weather of the North Atlantic. If the weather looks to be miserable, we can switch an outdoor excursion to our Historic Halifax tour which has a number of fascinating indoor locations to visit. In a worst-case scenario, if we encounter a major weather event that makes a tour unsafe or miserable, then we will issue you a full refund or a credit for another tour.

Clothing:

Considering we are right on the edge of the North Atlantic the weather can change fast. We will take steps to minimize the effects of bad weather but it helps to have layers of clothing that you feel comfortable bringing. It always helps to check an updated Halifax Weather Forecast before venturing out and then dress appropriately for the weather, as we will be outside on the edge of the North Atlantic for the most part.

Footwear:

Keep in mind that while we do have vehicle transportation, there will still be a fair amount of walking involved during your tour over steep or uneven terrain. We ask that you wear proper footwear that will allow you to climb our steep city streets or venture off the beaten path into some wooded areas. No sandals or open-toed footwear, please.

Are these tours physically demanding?

To make the most of the unique places we visit, all of our excursions require a moderate range of mobility. This may require guests to walk lengthy distances, hike over uneven or slippery terrain, climb numerous flights of stairs, and be able to enter and exit our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van which has a high step. If you have any joint or mobility issues, breathing difficulties, a troublesome back, or you know you are pregnant then this might not be the right tour for you.

Can we book a ‘private’ or custom tour?

We can customize a tour for your group. We can travel to all points in Nova Scotia (and even a few beyond). We’ve created unique, single-day experiences for numerous must-see destinations in Nova Scotia.

You can also book private tours, or even multi-day tours that we can design if we have time to plan it out and ensure partner reservations before the start date. Just give us an idea of what you would like to do, how many people are involved and we can make it happen.

Liability & waiver forms?

Picture Perfect Tours Ltd. has a general liability form that we require all tour participants to sign before starting a tour. Included in this form is a model release waiver stating that by agreeing to join our tour you are allowing us to use your image in our company advertising, social media, etc. Parents or guardians of children on tour are required to sign on the child or dependent’s behalf before they can participate in a tour. Exceptions to the model release form can be initiated by the parent or legal guardian of a child and we can negotiate an exception to the release form to not include specific children in any images.

Picture Perfect Tours Ltd. is not responsible for any lost, damaged or stolen personal items that you bring with you on a tour or leave in our transportation while you are on a tour with us.

Passenger Minimums:

Picture Perfect Tours requires a minimum purchase of four general admission adult tickets to operate our standard Half-Day Tours. If you’re a single tour guest we can provide an option for you to purchase a second ticket to ensure the tour proceeds. We reserve the right to cancel a tour a few hours before the tour begins if the minimum number of passengers is met. If we can not reschedule your excursion for another day, a full refund or a credit towards another tour of your preference will be issued.

Children:

We encourage families with kids to come on a tour with us and learn about our unique city and coast.

Where do we meet to start our tour?

We try to pick you up from your hotel or accommodation in downtown Halifax, but we can also organize a meeting point that suits you.

Can we stop for food along the way?

Absolutely! We can stop to grab something quick to eat during the tour (not included). We will have refreshments such as bottled water, pop, sports drinks, soda water on board our van to keep everyone hydrated throughout the day.

Do you have an airport pick-up or drop-off service?

If we have the time available to do so, we can pick you up or return you to Halifax Stanfield International Airport. The journey is about 35 minutes from downtown and costs start at $65.00 each way.
