Why Adventure With US

Since 2015 we have provided unique and authentic experiences for small groups of locals and visitors to Nova Scotia. Our adventures have been designed to showcase the coastal beauty and cultural charm of our region and can be customized to perfectly suit your needs.

Our Mission

People are what make travel so profound and our mission is to connect you with the people, cultures, history and landscape of our home Nova Scotia.

Our small group adventures and private excursions are led by local artists, photographers and architects. We depart from Halifax to all points across Nova Scotia and our speciality is in organizing day trips to the magical wilderness of Sable Island National Park Reserve. All of our experiences are designed and delivered with the idea of slowing down and sharing a local’s perspective.

We’ll visit stunning locations away from the crowds to create magazine-worthy pictures while meeting fascinating people who call Nova Scotia and the Maritimes home.

Mi'kma'ki

Our excursions and business operations take place in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. In the early 1500s, Europeans made contact with the Mi’kmaq who resided in Mi’kma’ki. This region includes what is known today as Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland, most of New Brunswick and parts of the Gaspé Peninsula. This territory is covered by the various “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” signed between the British Crown and Mi’kmaq Peoples. We are all Treaty people, we must respect and honour our rights as such within the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi’kmaq People. We feel it is vital to acknowledge this history and the stories – however painful, however symbolic – as a small step towards the harder work of true reconciliation.

Private Adventures

Our specialty is in catering to small open groups or private adventure of family and friends, so we can build you a custom itinerary based on your interests. We are the exact opposite of a big bus company. Our tours are meant to be a bit longer so we can linger and take a moment to enjoy and dive into what we are experiencing at your own pace. Tell us what you would like to see and doing and we will create a tailored experience to showcase the cultural and natural wonders of Nova Scotia.

About Geordie the Owner

With over 25 years of experience in tourism and hospitality, I have mixed that work history with an education in the arts,  photography and history; with a passion for travel and adventure into a fun little business.

Although I wasn’t born in Nova Scotia, my family has deep roots in the region, including Sable Island. I moved to Halifax in 1997 to study photography and art history, and have since gained an intimate knowledge of the Maritime’s best places to visit and the fascinating history of those places.

Whether you’re an experienced traveller or a curious newcomer, if you live and breathe exploration and adventure then I can’t wait to take you on a journey through the beauty and history of Canada’s east coast.
