Our guides are local photographers and artists who have made hundreds of visits to Peggy’s Cove since 2015. They know the best spots for photos and share easy-to-learn tips for you to create stunning travel images. You’ll also get a chance to explore the rich history of the area, with archival images, maps, and movies courtesy of the NS Archives. Later in the morning, as more people arrive on the big buses, we sneak out and visit a quiet local hiking spot at nearby Polly’s Cove.

 

 

The picturesque fishing village is home to North America’s most famous lighthouse and boasts stunning views of the North Atlantic and a rich history of over two centuries. Whether you’re a history buff, nature lover, or simply looking for a breathtaking destination to explore, Peggy’s Cove has something for everyone.

After a lunch break near Peggy’s Cove, we’ll head back to Halifax to visit the local Titanic Cemetary with 150 people from the 112-year-old Maritime tragedy.

From north to south, we’ll drive through Halifax to provide a broader historical glimpse of the city in terms of its architecture and communities before visiting either our world-renowned Halifax Central Library, Citadel Hill overlooking the town itself,

  • 09:45 – Depart for Peggy’s Cove from downtown Halifax
  • 10:45 – Arrive at Peggy’s Cove lighthouse 📷
  • 11:00 – Explore the lighthouse area 📷
  • 12:00 – Walk through the fishing village 📷
  • 12:30 – Arrive at Polly’s Cove Hiking Trail for a short hike 📷
  • 13:15 – Lunch break near in the Peggy’s Cove region

Get To Know Geordie

Geordie Mott is Picture Perfect Tours’s owner and tour director and has travelled the globe photographing his travels for 30 over 30 years. From photographing the nightlife of Glasgow, to being run over by teenage gorillas in Rwanda, creating portraits of our Canadian Prime Minister, or experimenting with colourful landscape images throughout the Caribbean – Geordie has seen a lot and has the images to show for it.

Geordie has dual BFa’s in photography and art history from NSCADU here in Halifax and has been involved in the local photography and film industries for almost 25 years and counting.

Whether it’s been for smaller groups or private tours – he always finds it thrilling to showcase and share with visiting photographers what makes the coastal villages and landscape of Nova Scotia so captivating.
